Dr. Hamway began treating patients in the Brighton area in 1993. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology from Northern Michigan University in 1982 and then a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1985. After working as an electrical engineer for two years, Dr. Hamway continued his education at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. At the University of Detroit, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1991 and then continued on to achieve a Master of Science degree and a certificate in the specialty of Orthodontics with honors in 1993.

Memberships in several professional organizations provide Dr. Hamway with the means to influence developments in his field as well as a wider forum to improve patient care. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics, the Michigan Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the Michigan Dental Association, the Washtenaw District Dental Society, the Livingston District Dental Society and Psi Omega National Dental Fraternity.

Aside from his dedication to premium patient care and attending regular continuing education courses, Dr. Hamway has also demonstrated his expertise in an article published in the Oakland County Dental Review, titled “Naso-Respiratory Function and Craniofacial Growth,” and in the International Journal of Adult Orthodontic Orthognathic Surgery, titled “Surgical Correction of Skeletal Class II Malocclusions Using Cranial Base Length (Corrected and Uncorrected) as a Reference.” Dr. Hamway also has lectured at the University of Detroit Dental School and hosts in-office presentations for local area dentists, physicians and their staff.

Dr. Hamway lives in the Brighton area with his wife, Mary, and their two daughters. Outside the office, Dr. Hamway enjoys basketball, golf and traveling.

Dr. Craig McMullen, hails from Hillsdale, Michigan, where he engaged in football, basketball, and baseball during his youth. His notable achievement in 2007, winning a state championship in baseball during his junior year of high school, marked an early success. Following his high school graduation, Dr. McMullen pursued higher education at Michigan State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. At MSU, he delved into microbiology research, specifically focusing on the gut microbiome project.

Continuing his academic and professional journey, Dr. McMullen studied dentistry at the University of Michigan, where he also conducted research on the Class II Carriere appliance. His dedication to research was recognized with the publication of his work in the prestigious The Angle Orthodontist Journal. Furthering his specialization, he pursued orthodontics at the University of Michigan, centering his research on MARPE, an innovative method for orthopedic expansion in skeletally mature patients.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. McMullen harbors a deep passion for travel, golf, watching sports, exercising, and cherishing moments with his family and wife, Alex.

Dr. Timothy Stroster was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University and then went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry to pursue a career in dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988, graduating top of his class. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, where he gained experience in dental trauma, oral surgery and orthodontics.

After practicing general dentistry for two years, Dr. Stroster return to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry to complete a master’s degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Upon graduating in 1993, he and Dr. Hamway opened their first orthodontic office in Brighton, Michigan. Several years later, in 1998, they opened a second office in South Lyon and eventually opened their third office in Howell in 2019. Since the beginning, it has always been Dr. Stroster’s goal to provide top class orthodontic care and excellent customer service to all of his patients while also keeping up to date on all technical advances in orthodontics.

Outside of the office, Dr. Stroster enjoys golfing, traveling, and cooking with his wife and three children. He and his wife have recently become grandparents.
